Congratulations to Gail on her 2nd win in-a-row!!! This was an extremely closely contested year so it stayed exciting until the end. Gail beat Aarron by only 12 points, and only 35 points separated the top 4 spots. She did it by having a good variety of strong players rather than one huge earner (only one of her players, Brady, was in the top 10).

Yet again this year, Yahoo predicted the top 14 players would be running backs (and one WR - Larry Fitzgerald). But in reality the top 9 players were all QBs. The top scorer was a surprise - Aarron Rodgers (282), followed by Brees (262) and Favre (256). There were so many high scoring QBs that Jay Cutler remained a free agent despite being the 13th-ranked scorer with 186 points.

The top RB was also a surprise - Chris Johnson (202) at #10.

  • Frank Gore (18) played well in SF's finale win. My two top scorers were benched, but playing them still would have left me 11 points shy of 4th place overall.
  • Aarron made a valiant effort to win the year and was barely shy of it. Eli Manning (-2) probably frustrated him the most, though none of his bench players could have edged him into the lead.
  • Favre (30) was one of the few top players who didn't rest in his final week, which helped Jake a lot but hardly made up for Drew Brees, Chad Ochocinco, Cedric Benson, and John Carney taking the night off.
  • Jason was hurt by Carson Palmer (-2) having 0 yards and 1 interception, but had a good day from Jonathan Stewart (12).
  • All's well that ends well for Gail, who got no help from Warner (0), Shockey (0), or Akers (0). But Knowshon Moreno (16) helped her hang on to that top spot.
  • Jeff's QBs actually played, including a strong showing from Aarron Rodgers (16).

I imagine Jeff is annoyed to have not started Jamaal Charles (24) with his 3 TDs, or Green Bay (18). Starting those two (instead of Ricky Williams and New Orleans) would have earned Jeff an extra 39 points and won him the year.
